The Arcade Fire+HTML5

Arcade Fire is undoubtedly the most buzzed about band in the country right now. Their third album, The Suburbs debuted to a wave of critical praise and sold over 150,000 copies in it’s first week of release. They collaborated with visionary director Terry Gilliam (Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) on a live broadcast of their Madison Square Garden concert, and recently announced a film project they intend to do with Spike Jonze (Adaptation, Where The Wild Things Are) that would act as a companion piece to The Suburbs.

Now comes their music video for the song “We Used To Wait”. The video was done with the help of Google and was developed in the new HTML5. The program is still in beta, but if this video is any indication, HTML5 could very well change the way we view content on the internet. Either way, the video is downright liberating. The word freedom is starting to mean a new thing my friends.

Do yourself a favor. Go to the page. Make sure to close all other windows you might already have open. Type in your home address and let the video take you away.
